This year for Rare Disease Day 2024 we are calling on everyone to help the rare disease community be united by a chain of lights across the world.
As well as lighting up your own home, you can also request your local landmark to be lit up. The illumination of landmarks will increase awareness with the wider public and help to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with rare conditions. Contact the media relations team for the building you would like illuminated using our email template to make your request.

Here is a Rare Disease Day style guide, which includes the colours to request and the Rare Disease Day logo. If you have to choose one colour, we suggest the colour blue! It also includes other methods to get involved, that don't include using lights.
If you can’t see your local landmark on our template, let us know at [email protected].
Tell the media relations team for your local landmark to light up in the Rare Disease Day colours on 29 February.
We have written an email template that you can use below but your message will have more impact if you can add details as to why this is important to you.
