#RareAPPG: Get MPs to support people living with rare, genetic and undiagnosed conditions

 #RareAPPG is a campaign run by Genetic Alliance UK to enable people to easily find and get in touch with their MPs, asking them to represent their interests and needs in Parliament and to pushforward change tht will help people with rare, genetic and udniagnosed conditions. 

We ask that people encourage their MPs to register their interest in the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Rare, Genetic and Undiagnosed conditions as this is the best way for us to share challenges faced by the rare condition community and raise awareness in Parliament. Please use our email template to share your story with your MP ask for their support in addressing the challenges you face with your rare, genetic or undiagnosed condition.

In the email, remember to:

  •  Share your personal connection to rare, genetic and undiagnosed conditions and how they affect you 
  • Mention where you live so that your MP knows that you live in their constituency
  • Make specific asks of your MP
  • In the email template, you ask for a meeting with the MP to discuss further. If you are successful in securing a meeting with your MP, a member of our team would be happy to support you in that meeting, or take the meeting on your behalf.
